SAVANNAH, GA: IVolunteer International, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in Savannah is ready to make volunteering easy in the world. Since their initiation, IVolunteer developed an online platform for organizations and individuals to easily organize, post, and share their volunteer projects – connecting communities all around the world. Their website has received great feedback from users, but they’re looking at ways to expand and change the way people get involved with volunteer opportunities.
In mid-2019, IVolunteer plans to launch a revolutionary mobile app to reshape how volunteers connect to projects within their communities and across the globe – making it the first worldwide volunteer app. Over the next 10 months, they are campaigning to raise $25,000 in hopes to make this app a reality and better the lives of individuals everywhere.
The best part of this app? – It’s at no cost to the users. IVolunteer wants to ensure individuals are able to volunteer at their heart’s will without the costs of membership, weekly meetings, long-term commitments, and financial obligations. This allows anyone to sign up for projects – irrespective of their economic status, interests, geographical location, religion, or any other category, bridging the gap between communities to create a united world. The mobile app, when launched, will identify the user’s live location and connect them to volunteer opportunities around them. The users will be able to track their individual volunteer hours and share common-interest opportunities with their friends and family and even celebrate volunteerism!
This app also empowers charities and non-profits to easily attain volunteers – easing the worry of not finishing projects on schedule. With this, they’re helping to solve a big challenge and ultimately make volunteering easier, accessible, fun and cost-effective across the globe.
Nipuna Ambanpola, Georgia Southern University Senior and IVolunteer International’s Co-Founder & Executive Director said, “This idea just took off. Since 2015, we have connected over 2,000 volunteers for more than 60 projects. We have been redefining the way people of the world respond to volunteering.”
