Rotaract Global Model United Nations is a grassroots initiative started in 2013 by Rotaractors. Every year a new edition is organized in a different country that is hosted by a local Rotaract Club. The conference seeks the participation of anyone over 18 years old and it is aimed at young professionals. Our initiative follows in these footsteps and has been exceptionally successful in bringing young leaders together across the globe to address current and emerging issues that affect our generation.
Project Description
Rotaract Global Model United Nations transcends from a mere simulation to an actual youth decision-making process. It goes beyond a simple conference and ensures that the outcomes of your discussions and debates are presented, edited and transmitted in a clear and concise manner to the regional and international decision-making bodies (such as EU and UN) and the world at large. Through this novel and innovative approach, Rotaract Global Model United Nations brings a new vision to the MUN Network and to the other conferences of this type. From March 8-11, 2018, over 2,000 delegates will gather at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City to participate in rigorous debates about critical issues facing people around the world. The Future We Want Model United Nations Conference will provide delegates the opportunity to explore issues the United Nations faces today, have the opportunity to understand the critical need for international peace and security.
Location: United Nations Headquarters in New York
Date Range: March 8 – 11, 2018
Delegate Benefits
By simulating the United Nations, we encourage knowledge of international affairs, research, understanding of parliamentary procedures, analytical reasoning, problem-solving, professionalism in negotiation, oral and written presentation of ideas, etc. By working together as a team, drawing from the past and present, we are preparing youth for the future and we empower them to be a part of decision-making at all levels.
