About the Organization
Established in 1981 in Savannah Georgia, America’s Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia is a locally inspired, volunteer-driven nonprofit food bank and community partnering organization. Second Harvest serves as the food safety net for tens of thousands of children, senior citizens, low-income families, and people with disabilities who are at risk for hunger throughout Southern Georgia.
Volunteer Opportunity
If you’re in the Savannah or Brunswick area, you can contact the 2nd Harvest Food Bank coordinator to schedule a volunteer project/support. At Second Harvest, they have multiple volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups. Whether you are interested in becoming a regular volunteer or just helping out as time allows, they can work around your schedule. They do prefer to schedule volunteers ahead of time due to space constraints. However, if you have a few open hours in your day please give them a call. They utilize volunteers for many programs and activities. Please visit their Programs page for a more thorough description of how they serve the people of Coastal Georgia.
